Catering Service

Catering Service

The school operates a Cashless Catering system for all purchases made in the canteen.

How does the system work?

The student simply places their finger on a scanner at the till; a display will show the till operator the student’s name, class and current cash balance held within the system. The selected food items will be entered into the till and the amount spent and the new cash balance will show on the display to the student.

How do we pay

All students and staff will have an account with St John Fisher, our on-site catering supplier. Money is credited to accounts via either:

Automatic Cash Terminals – Students place their finger on the scanner and insert money into the cash terminal. Two terminals will be located in key areas for students to top up their accounts. The terminals are programmed to accept: £20, £10 and £5 Notes, £2, £1, 50p, 20p and 10p Coins

Free School Meals

Children who are entitled to Free School Meals will scan their fingertip at the till. Money for the Free School Meal will be credited to the account by the School and will be available to spend each lunch time. The current daily Free School Meal allowance is £2.70 and this amount will be credited to your child’s account each day. The daily allowance must be used on the day that it is credited and any unused allowance will not be carried forward to the next day.

You will also be able to add money to your child’s account to allow them to buy food and drinks at breakfast and break time and also if they wish to purchase more than is covered by their daily allowance at lunch time.

Spend Limits

A daily spend limit for students of £10.00 will be programmed into the system. This limit can be increased or decreased for individual students at the parents’ request.

Reports

The cashless catering system is able to provide parents with a report detailing their child’s history of food purchased at School, each time money is added to the account and current account balance. Your child can also check the balance on their account by using one of the automatic cash terminals. If you would like further information, please contact the main school office.
