Subjects' Logs & Visions
Religous Education
Our curriculum and learning experiences are designed to help students explore big questions about faith, God, and the Catholic Church in a modern and meaningful way. It goes beyond just learning facts by challenging every student to think critically about how Catholic teachings, values, and traditions connect to their own lives and the wider world. Using a clear six-part structure that follows the school year, the curriculum guides students through how to listen to scripture, understand what Catholics believe, explore how faith is celebrated, and think about how to live out those values through your everyday actions and moral choices.
English Subject Vision
To cultivate students who engage with literature and language, seeking truth and wisdom in all they read (Proverbs 4:7). To shape individuals to have an appreciation for the beauty of language, using it with integrity to communicate hope and light in a complex world. To nurture a community of confident readers, eloquent speakers, and skilled writers who are critical thinkers.
Geography
Our geography vision is to inspire a deep curiosity and fascination about the world and its people that will remain with students for life. By starting with our local area and expanding globally, we equip pupils with the core physical and human knowledge, map skills, and fieldwork experience they need to think like geographers. We strive to develop responsible global citizens who understand their connection to the environment and actively care for the sustainability of our planet.
History
History lessons are to enable students to develop and extend their knowledge and understanding of specified key events, periods and societies in local, British, and wider world history; and of the wide diversity of human experience. It enables students to gain historical perspective by placing their growing knowledge into different contexts. Students are engaged in historical enquiry to develop as independent learners and as critical and reflective thinkers.
Mathematics
Our vision is for every pupil to see themselves as a mathematician — confident, curious and resilient, with the knowledge, skills and belief to succeed.

Sociology
Sociology to inspire students to reflect critically but empathetically upon the world we live in, fostering an understanding and curiosity of the inter-relationships between individual, groups, institutions, and society. Sociology aims to enable students to reflect on social issues that are often relevant to their own social experiences. Sociology aims to develop students that are socially and culturally aware, who can analyse their and other’s views and to come to empathic and justified conclusions.
